#DouglassDay 2021
As part of the #DouglassDay event series, the organizing team will host a panel at University College Cork, featuring leading scholars and experts from Ireland and abroad reflecting on Douglass’s time in Ireland. The panel will consider topics such as the importance of Douglass’s Irish experience to his broader career, his encounters with O’Connell and others, the parallels between the Irish and American struggles for freedom, and the relevance of Douglass’s fight for equality and justice to contemporary issues around migration and refugee experiences in Europe.
